iPhone Apps and Geeky Nerdy Awesomeness

Last night I was invited to work as a promo model for Maxim.com and let me just say it was that most fun I have ever had promo modeling. Maxim was hosting an event for the creators of Peel.

Peel is a brand new iPhone app that turns your iPhone, iPad or iTouch into a universal remote for your television. Peel suggests Top Pick TV shows for you based on what you watch and like. Instead of a long, boring channel grid, Peel presents an easy-to-use mosaic of your favorite shows, filtered by type and genre in the order you like. It looks like iTunes when you shuffle through album covers.

Peel invisibly controls your entire entertainment system: TV, cable or satellite box, Blu-ray player, AV receiver, Apple TV®, Roku and more. There's nothing to plug into your phone, and there's no hassle with network passwords. In three simple steps, you're controlling just about any home theater right from your iPhone or iPod touch.

Think it sounds too good to be true?? I did too at first but after seeing it in action I am sold!! For those of you (like me) who do not have an iPhone yet, the launch of the Android version is in the works and should be out sometime this year!! Want it now?! You can buy it here.

So enough with the product.. let me tell you about the event.

The event was held at the W Hotel, upstairs in the XYZ Lounge and the remaining banquet rooms on the 2nd level. There was a "theater" system set up so that you could demo the app and hardware, 2 open bars, awesome music, great food (though I didn't get to try any) and a few hundred extremely intelligent developers, engineers, investors and many more.

It felt great to be in a room with people who are really driven and working EVERYDAY to obtain their goals. This type of industry is one that has to stay on top of it's game. There is no, "I'll do it later", "I don't feel like it", "You're not my boss" or even any promises made that will never be achieved. I have to hand it to this special group of people, without them our technology wouldn't exist or for that matter be getting better everyday. Just think, on the days you feel like you hate your job and you run to your phone to tweet about it or facebook it.... these are the people who created the ability to do that and constantly make sure that it is up and running properly. Can we give these guys a round of applause??

Either way.. I'm excited. I'm glad I got to be there and I am hoping to see some of those amazing individuals in the near future.

Another amazing app that is going to change your life....... Dibbs... check it out.. I'll be blogging about it latter.

Charity Fashion Show

I'm really happy and excited to announce that I have been asked to show at this years Charity Fashion Show 2011.

Last year this CFS as the most talked about all across the bay area and was voted Best Fashion Show on the West Coast by Examiner.com, so it is an honor to be asked to show my collection. I will be sharing the runway with 40 designers from all over the world, only 15 of which of from San Francisco.

The show is April 2nd, 2011 and is being held at Fort Mason Center in SF with the after party being at SupperClub. Tickets are selling for $80 (VIP) and $50 (GA). Show kicks off at 8p.

When Thom called me a week ago I almost died with excitement. As most of you know I am still a young and fairly new designer. I have only showed my collections in two shows both of which showed only my Ureshii collection (Japanese inspired lingerie) but this time I will be showing my sexy-fitted-beachwear-meets-urban-city-girl clothing line. You can see most of my collection on my website at www.ashtonmiyako.com.

I guess there is not much to say besides that. If you are interested in purchasing tickets you can go to this link.

I hope to see some of you there!!

The Apartment

On March 1, 2011 we moved into our new apartment. I made a video for my parents but was never able to send it to them via text :(

But thanks to Blogger.com I am able to share it with them and well, you, so sit back and enjoy!

Once we get a little more situated I will post another video of what it looks like since we've moved in.. big change, but even MORE awesome!!

First post!! Yippie!

So it's official, She's Fashion (Me) He's Music (Him) is finally getting started.

Ever since we moved in together (a little less than a month ago) I have been embarking on this new found adulthood and wanting to share it with others who may be going through the same things. Selfishly I will also be providing myself with an outlet for when crazy moments hit.. maybe you can laugh along with me as I stress about the small things and he laughs at me the whole way home.

A little about us, I am 23, he is 27 and we have been dating since Nov. 2010. Woo.. our relationship has been anything but conventional and everything that love and fun has to offer. Neither of us had any idea that lovers could also be best friends and that being in a serious relationship doesn't mean that you have to be serious in your mind. My parents say it's just because we are young that we love to chase each other around the house, play tricks, make jokes and laugh until we cry, but I think it's just the moment of truly finding your soul mate and loving every minute of it.

What can you expect?? Well... that all depends on what is going on in our lives. Form me you will see new fashion designs, cooking techniques, blogs about how to keep love alive and so on and so forth. From him you will see amazing art, music that he is making and all that jazz (though I will probably be the one posting his triumphs, he's not much of a blogger).

Soooo.. yea.. enjoy, ask us questions, let us know what you're thinking and we will always respond!

HAPPY BLOGGING!!
